Lavender has been used medicinally for over 2,500 years. The Romans used to bathe with it. It’s known for calming and relaxing the body and nervous system. Lavender is a powerful antidepressant and also alleviates intestinal spasms, gas and bloating. It’s antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and anti inflammatory. There are so many ways to enjoy this beautiful flower of the mint family-diffuse it, burn it, infuse it to make teas and other aromatic drinks, bake with it, as an essential oil, in beauty products, and on and on.

Simple Lavender Lemonade: infuse the flowers (fresh or dry) in room temperature water overnight. In the morning add fresh lemon 🍋 or lime juice (so that the acid doesn’t cook the lavender overnight) and a sweetener of your choice. I love maple syrup, coconut sugar, or raw cane sugar.
